Gladys E Marker, 96, resident of Naples, FL. and formerly Fishers and Huntertown, went to Heaven to be with our Lord and her husband Robert L. Marker on Thursday, June 11, 2020
Gladys was born on April 2, 1924, in Huntertown, a daughter of Paul and Alice (Mason) Guillaume. She is the last of their seven children (one adopted).
Gladys worked at the Bun Candy MFG. Co., in Fort Wayne, before and during WWII. During this time, she married Robert L. Marker on 12-18-1941 in Churubusco. They shared 67 wonderful, fulfilling, loving years together.
Gladys also had a short career with the General Telephone Co., in the 1950's. Then in 1960 Robert's job moved them to Fishers, where again she had a short career with the L.S. Ayers Co., in Indianapolis.
Gladys was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 60 years serving as Worthy Matron of Churubusco Chapter #136 from 1957-58 with her husband Robert as her Worthy Patron.
Approximately 1999, they moved permanently to their "Paradise" Naples, Florida, where she resided the rest of her days.
She will Greatly be missed by her children and her Grandchildren. She was so blessed with an abundance of Family and Friends that will deeply miss her as well. Above all else Gladys was a Very Caring and Giving Wife, Mother, Women.
Gladys is survived by two daughters, Patty L. (Robin) Hunt and Sandra L. (Richard) Fountain; four grandchildren, Kim (Jeff) DeNicolo, Kara Londergan, Cindy (Todd) Pershing and Claudine (Tim) Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren, Mia and Austin DeNicolo, Kieren, Aiden, Elle Londergan, Kathie (David) Elkins, Lauren Pershing, and Issac Whitaker.
Family will receive friends on Saturday, June 20, 2020 at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, 206 Main Street, from 2 pm to 5 pm. Followed by an Eastern Star Service.
Service will be held after the Eastern Star service.
Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
