Orrin "Doc" H. Jinnings, 91, of Churubusco, passed away on September 12, 2021, at Park Place Senior Living in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Edon, OH, on December 1, 1929, to the late Dr. Loren and Dorothy (Ridenour) Jinnings. He spent his formative years in Garrett, graduating from Hamilton High School in 1947.
Orrin was married to Patricia Myers on February 17, 1951.
He founded Hercules Machinery Corp., in 1964. He retired in 1994, after 30 years of service.
Doc was a member of the Masons, Shriners and the Scottish Rite.
He enjoyed making fishing poles which he gave to kids that needed one. In his retirement, Doc enjoyed traveling to the east coast and Canada in his motorhome. He also enjoyed spending his winters in Florida.
Doc is survived by his wife of 70 years, Patricia Jinnings; his three children, John (Linda) Jinnings, Merri (Jim) Fairchild and Scott (Lori) Jinnings; six grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) McLaughlin, Jeff (Corey) Fairchild, Amanda (Josh) Jones, Abbie Jinnings, Brad (Megan) Jinnings and Kaitlin Jinnings; ten great-grandchildren, Hudson Fairchild, Kayleigh Bryant, Cale Bryant, Liam McLaughlin, Atticus Jones, Otto Jones, Sidney White, Garrett McLaughlin, Meredith Jinnings, Jackson Jinnings and Emrie Jinnings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Loren Jinnings.
The family will have a private service with burial taking place at the Riverview Cemetery.
