Verdonna "Tootie" Konger, 87, of Albion, passed away on March 6, 2022, at her home.
She was born in Coesse, on October 13, 1934, to the late Loren and Irene (Hyndman) O'Connell. She spent her formative years in Northwest Allen County, graduating from Huntertown high School.
Tootie was married to Paul Konger in Ege, on June 19, 1954. He preceded her in death on May 11, 2014.
She worked out of her house as a hairdresser. She was mostly a homemaker and mother.
Tootie was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Rosary Society. She enjoyed tending to her garden and flowers. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time at the lake and fishing.

Tootie is survived by a son, Mike (Beth) Konger; two daughters, Jenny (Mike) Mohrman and Amy (Mike) Philbee; a sister-in-law, Nancy O'Connell; a son-in-law, Hayes McBride; seven grandchildren, Lucas (Jennifer) Konger, Jessica (Kyle) Kater, Brad Geist, Mallory (John) Bates, Derek (Mikalah) Philbee, Todd Papenbrock and Joshua (Katee) McBride and 13 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cynthia McBride; a son, Matthew Konger; a grandson, Ben Konger; a brother, James O'Connell.
Mass of Christian burial will take place at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Ege on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., with calling from 9:00 to 9:45 at the Funeral Home.
The family will also receive friends on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., with the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Burial taking place at Ege Catholic Cemetery, Ege.
