Adam P. Ross, 29, a former resident of Churubusco and more recently of Fort Wayne, passed away at 10:44 p. m. on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at his home following an extended illness. Adam was born on May 14, 1985, a son of Terry L. and Candace (Traxler) Ross, and spent all of his formative years in Churubusco. He graduated from Churubusco High School in 2003, and earned his associates degree from Vincennes University. Employed as a machinist at C&A Tool and Engineering in Churubusco, he had worked there for the past six years. On September 21, 2013 he was married at Ege to Allison Kay Smith. The couple loved to travel and enjoyed such destinations as Cabo, Mexico and also Hawaii. They loved attending country music concerts, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and boating on Blue Lake. Adam enjoyed life to the fullest, and in his leisure time was an avid gun collector, and enjoyed cars and waterskiing with family and friends on Blue Lake, where he grew up. He was baptized, confirmed, and had been a server at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco. The surviving relatives include his wife Allie; his parents Terry and Candi Ross of Churubusco; a sister Kelli (Josh) Kirchner of Columbia City; his maternal grandparents Nancy Traxler of Fort Wayne and Harold (Lori) Traxler of Huntertown; the paternal grandmother Margaret Ross of Avilla; his mother-in-law Peggy Smith of Fort Wayne; a sister-in-law Amanda (Jon McCoy) Smith of Fort Wayne; a brother-in-law Alex Smith of Fort Wayne; four uncles Curt (Tina) Traxler of Albion, Gary (Susan Byerley) Ross of LaOtto, Rick Ross of Keystone, and his uncle and godfather Craig (Susan) Traxler of Fort Wayne; an aunt and godmother Carla (Steve) Plummer of Huntertown; one niece Ella Kirchner; two nephews Austin and Eli Kirchner; and his dog "Hunter." He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Richard Ross. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a. m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco with Father Danney Pinto and Father Jacob Meyer, the concelebrants. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 8 p. m. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
