Adeline Thompson

Adeline Joan Thompson, 83, of Avilla, passed away at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Presence Sacred Heart in Avilla. Mrs. Thompson was born on August 15, 1932 in Lake Township, Allen County, Indiana, a daughter of George A. and Jennie (Smith) Fritz. She spent her formative years in Lake Township, and graduated from Arcola High School in 1950. On April 26, 1952 she was married in St. Johns Lutheran Church, Lake Twp. to Harry Junior Thompson, and moved from Lake Township to Washington Township where the couple lived until 2006. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. Her husband preceded her in death on November 26, 2012. The surviving relatives include son, Daniel Alan (Kimberly) Thompson of Avilla; granddaughter, Malorie Thompson; great-granddaughter, Wrayla Sloan; sister, Frances Stuckey. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Josephine Fudge and Laura LaFever; a brother, Saben Fritz. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor Lane Burgland, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
