Albert Andreas

Albert E. Andreas, 91, of Columbia City, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at Bright Star Senior Living in Fort Wayne. He was born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania on December 27, 1931, to the late Gustav and Natalia (Gheske) Andreas. He spent his formative years in Cleveland, Ohio, and graduated from Collinwood High School in 1950. Albert served in the United States Airforce from 1950 to 1954. He married Virginia B. Andrews on April 21, 1955. She preceded him in death on October 24, 2020. He was a manufacturing engineer at Magnetek, Inc for ten years and retired in 1989. Albert was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge, the Eagles Lodge, and the American Legion, all in Columbia City. He is survived by his four sons, Thomas (LeAnna) Andreas, Christopher B. (Vicki) Andreas, Albert (Lisa) Andreas, and William C. Andreas; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Andreas; one sister, and three brothers. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2023, at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 South Line Street, Columbia City, with calling one hour prior at the church.
