Anita Bair

Anita C. Bair, 82, of Churubusco, passed away at 3:38 p.m., on Monday, October 8, 2018, at her home. She was born in Whitley County, on February 3, 1936, to the late, Ralph and Mona (Krider) Shively. She spent her formative years in Churubusco, graduating as valedictorian from Churubusco High School in 1954. Anita was married to Lynn Bair in Collins, on December 31, 1954. The couple spent all of their adult life in Smith Township in Whitley County. She worked in the medical field for ten years at General Medical, retiring in 1983. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, reading, watching birds and butterflies, but she especially loved spending time with her family. Anita is survived by five daughters, Debra (Ben) Lowe of Chandler, Ariz., Shelly Lybarger of Churubusco, Terri (Ron) Skinner of Albion, Susie (Kevin) Teague of Churubusco, Amy (Charlie) Vice of Wawaka; a brother, Willard (Carol) Shively of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren, Dan Lowe, Jenn (Shea) Sommerville, Cole Lybarger, Holly (Heath) Bingham, Abby (Zack) Mitchell, Tyler Skinner, Jason Teague, Ryan (Teri) Teague, Shannon (Ross) Killworth, Cory (Ashley) Vice, Tony (Anna) Vice and Alex Vice ; 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lynn Bair on December 1, 2009; two sisters, Shirley Herron and Roberta Wilcoxson; a grandson Andy Vice and a great-grandson, Jacob Teague. Services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Friday, October 12, 2018, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor George Cecil, Officiant. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral home on Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Calling also one hour prior to the service.
