Anna Skinner

Anna Jane Skinner, 95, of Churubusco, passed away at 12:02 pm on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at North RidgeVillage Nursing and Rehab in Albion. Mrs. Skinner was born on February 10, 1918 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of Edison M. and Lavona (Clark) Burry. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne, and graduated from Northside High School. On May 24, 1941 she was married in Fort Wayne to Clyde D. Skinner, and moved from Fort Wayne to Churubusco where she had lived since 1954. Mrs. Skinner was a member of Sugar Grove Church of God. She was a member of the Home Division Club for five years and was past President of the PTA. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and Quilting. Her husband Clyde preceded her in death on December 3, 2001. The surviving relatives include a daughter - Anne (Adrian) Ledger of Laotto; two sons - Robert (Mary Jo) Skinner and Joseph (Annabeth) Skinner both of Churubusco; nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her brother Stanley Burry. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday at Sugar Grove Church of God, with Pastor Timothy Grable, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm Wednesday, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam.
