Arrena Diffendarfer

Arrena Ellen Diffendarfer, 94, of Columbia City, formerly of Churubusco, passed away on June 4, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born on March 4, 1923, in Noble County, she was a daughter of Kenneth and Thelma (Herron) Leitch. She spent her formative years in Noble County and graduated from Churubusco High School. She was married on July 4, 1968 to Floyd Diffendarfer and the couple settled in Churubusco. Arrena owned and operated Arrena's Beauty Shop in Churubusco. Surviving are her son, Monte (Peggy) Diffendarfer of Churubusco; a daughter, Valeria (Jerry) Cheek of North Webster; a son-in-law, Dave Young of Churubusco; a step-daughter, Phyllis (Lee) Lambert of Hollister, FL; a step-son, Rex Diffendarfer of French Lick; several grandchildren and many great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse she is preceded in death by a daughter Oneita J. Young; a step-daughter Betty Zeedyk; three brothers Donald Leitch, Kenneth Leitch, Jr., and Ross Leitch; and a sister Jeanette Johnson. Visiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Thursday, June 8, 2017 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM. Graveside services will begin at 10:00 AM, at Christian Chapel Cemetery on Friday, June 9, 2017. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Riley Children's Hospital.
