Arthur Lamle

Arthur R. Lamle, 95, a resident of rural Fort Wayne and long-time Eel River Township farmer, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 1:05 a. m. at the Hamilton House in Fort Wayne where he had been residing for the past year due to declining health. Mr. Lamle was born on February 8, 1916 in Eel River Township, a son of Robert and Caroline (Felger) Lamle.e He spent his formative years on the family farm there, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1933. A lifelong resident of Eel River Township, he was engaged in farming in Allen County all of his life, retiring in 1993. He was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church-Lake Township, and was also a member of the Lake Township Farm Bureau, the Oliver Tractor Club and the Corvair Club. On March 22, 1955 he was married to Alice Longenecker.e She preceded him in death on April 24, 2000. The surviving relatives include his son Ronald E. Lamle of Fort Wayne; and a sister Doris Peterson of Bluffton. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant brother. Funeral services will be held at 10 a. m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at St. John's Lutheran Church-Lake Township, 7914 W. Cook Road, with Pastor Ralph Easterhaus, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Monday from 4 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County. The family requests that memorials be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church-Lake Township Building Fund, 7914 West Cook Road, Fort Wayne, Indianae 46818 **************************************
