Beatrice Leitch

Beatrice J. Leitch, 96, formerly of Churubusco, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, at Ashton Creek. She was born on August 18, 1929, in Larwill, to the late Paul and Alta (Hawk) Egolf. She spent her formative years in Churubusco, where she graduated from Churubusco High School in 1947. She was married to Max "Skip" Leitch in Ligonier on December 16, 1948, who sadly preceded her in death on September 21, 2003. A dedicated homemaker, Beatrice was passionate about caring for her family, making her children and grandchildren the center of her world. In addition to being a dedicated homemaker she had previously worked at and retired from Dana. Beatrice is survived by her children, Carol (Jim Meek) Carter and Scott (Lisa Simmons) Leitch; her grandchildren, Lacey (Eric) Buss, Aubreeanna (Zachary) Jonas, and Gavin (Olivia) Leitch; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Miller, Elizabeth Orcutt, Mary Jo Kennedy, and Corrine Carrig; her brothers, Norman and Roger Egolf. A funeral service will take place at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling beginning at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
