Beatrice "Bea" Mero, 83, passed away peacefully Thursday January 19, 2017 at Kingston Care Center after a long illness.
Born in 1933, Bea was the youngest of five children from the marriage of Ephram and Lucille (Carver) Funk. She graduated North Side High School in 1951 and married fellow North Side graduate, Carl E. Mero, on June 28 1952, they had three children.
After raising her family, Bea went to work at Maloley's Grocery in 1975. She retired from Kroger in 2010 and began volunteering at the outpatient pharmacy in Parkview Hospital.
She is survived by her husband and children- Roxie Heck, Gene (Debbie) Mero and Michele (Frank Plumb) Mero, along with three grandchildren- Rochele, Alex and Elizabeth and a loving extended family of nieces and nephews.
Bea was preceded in death by her parents and siblings- James Funk, Jeanette Passon, Richard Funk and Geraldine Carlson.
There will be no service, but personal memorials made be made in her name to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home and Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana with deep gratitude from the family.
