Benjamin T. Bare, 37, of Merriam, passed away at 11:45 a.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at his home in Merriam. Mr. Bare was born on June 24, 1978 in Fort Wayne, a son of Thomas L. Bare and Karen Sue Monhollen. He spent his formative years in Noble County, and graduated from Cornerstone Christian School in 1998. He enjoyed spending time with family especially his cousin and best friend Austin Marlow. He enjoyed auto racing and supporting many cousins who referred to him as "Uncle Ben" at their various extra curricular activities. Mr. Bare was a member of Cornerstone Wesleyan Church, where he helped with the sound room and anywhere the church needed help. The surviving relatives include his sister, Billie Jo (Bruce McKale) Bare of New Haven; his surrogate mother, Libby McKinley; paternal aunts and uncles, Charles "Ted" Bare, Charla (Cliff) Bitting, Rick (Alica) Sherman, Dodie (Tony) Hart, Mindy Wert, Todd (Joyce) Sherman, Chad Sherman, and Doni (James) Marlow; maternal aunts and uncle, Judy Gleason, Mary Ford, Lois Dibble, and Marty Monhollen; many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and an uncle David Monhollen. Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Saturday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Pastor George Cecil, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Saturday.
