Bettie Shank

Bettie Shank, 92, a resident of LaOtto, passed away on March 2, 2017 in Fort Wayne. Born on October 24, 1924 in Garrett a daughter of Frank and Ethel (Cramer) Cobbs. She spent her formative years in LaOtto. She was married on June 26, 1945 in Churubusco to Thad Shank, he preceded her on July 28, 2014. Bettie was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in LaOtto. She retired from GE where she worked as a winder. Bettie is survived by a daughter, Sheila (Daniel) Cape of Auburn; a son, Mark (Deborah) Shank of LaOtto; two sisters, Vera Jean Hoover of Columbia City and Lenora Hattion of LaOtto; three grandchildren, Suzanne Shearer, Jeffrey Coons and Thad Coons; seven great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded by two sisters. Visiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Sunday, March 5, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM. calling also one hour prior to the service. Services will begin at 11:00 AM, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Monday, March 6, 2017. Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to in Bettie's name to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
