Betty Barnett

Betty L. Barnett, 100, of Huntertown, passed away on September 12, 2024. Betty was born on January 27, 1924, in Fort Wayne, to the late Paul and Olava (Snowberger) Burns, where she spent her formative years and proudly graduated from South Side High School. Betty was a dedicated homemaker, providing a warm and loving environment for her family. On October 11, 1947, she married the love of her life, Ralph P. Barnett, Jr., in Fort Wayne, who sadly preceded her in death on November 11, 2003. In 1975, she relocated to the more rural setting of Huntertown, where she continued to reside until her passing. Betty is survived by her son, Daniel (Denise) Barnett; her daughter, Debbie (Gary) Owen; six grandchildren, Ashley (Eric) Fetcho, Kevin Barnett, Chris (Stephanie) Owen, Carrie (Josh) Nahrwold, Mike (Renee) Baeten, and Shelly (Matt) Miller; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph Barnett, Jr.; her parents, Paul and Olava Burns; and her daughter, Dianne Baeten. A Celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at her residence. She was buried at Highland Park Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
