Betty Geiger

Betty Rose Geiger, 85, of Churubusco, passed away at 3:35 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mrs. Geiger was born on May 25, 1930 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of William and Rosella (Schane) Caston. On August 18, 1951 she was married in Fort Wayne to Dwight E. Geiger, and moved from Fort Wayne to Churubusco. Mrs. Geiger graduated from South Side High School in 1948 Her spouse preceded her in death on July 18, 2007. The surviving relatives include a son, Tim A. (Brenda) Geiger of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Diane McClain of Churubusco; her sister, Sandy (Dave) Dahman of Fort Wayne; two grandsons, Chad (Paula) McClain of Columbia City and Eric Geiger of Fort Wayne; a granddaughter, Lauren Geiger of Fort Wayne; and five great granddaughters. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol Caston and a grandson, Justin T. Geiger. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Allen County.
