Bobbie Poynter

Bobbie M. Poynter, 80, of Albion, passed away at 5:50 p.m. on Monday, May 4, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mr. Poynter was born on December 8, 1934 in Alexandria, a son of Roy and Fontella (Garman) Poynter. He spent his formative years in Alexandria. He was retired from Ormsby Trucking, but drove for several company's over a 25 years period. Mr. Poynter enjoyed fishing, but loved trucking. The surviving relatives include three sons, Bobbie (Linda) Poynter of Fort Wayne, Curtis "Butch" (Kelley) Poynter of Corunna, Tate Poynter of Albion; two daughters, Rosemarie (Orla) Lehman of Lagrange and Teresa Poynter - Hoffman of Fort Wayne; three sisters, Sharon (Ron) Wilson, Joyce (Ron) Luecke, and Donna Fisher; ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy Poynter and Fontella Hollar; and a brother Harry Poynter. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Chaplain Ann Lantz, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday.
