Bonnie Harris

Bonnie Gene "Sparks" Harris, 73, of Fort Wayne, formerly of 114 Wilts Street Fort Wayne, passed on December 24, 2022, at Parkview Randallia hospital. She was born in Charleston West Virginia, on May 16, 1949, to the late Lorin F. Sparks and Mary L. (Shaffer) Sparks. Bonnie was married to James Melville Harris on August 18, 1965, in Newport News, Virginia. He preceded her in death on Dec. 7, 2004. She is survived by two daughters, Catherine (Todd) Bertrand and Laura (Dennis) Spence; two sons, James (Katrina) Harris and Akoni (Taryn) Harris; a sister, Denise Friend; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbur and David Shaffer. A private family Memorial service will be held at a later date. A mass will be conducted at the Fort Wayne Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on January 9 at noon and will be dedicated to Bonnie. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Society of The Little Flower or to the donor's choice. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
