Brandon Deck

Brandon J. Deck, 36, of Harland, died at his home on October 21, 2026.

He was born on July 22, 1990, in Fort Wayne to Bruce and Tina (Iden) Deck.

Brandon graduated from Columbia City High School in 2008. On October 19, 2013, he married Nicole Trumbull in Whitley County.

He found joy in woodworking, hunting, fishing, and kayaking—especially when sharing these moments with his family and the Boy Scouts. Above all, Brandon was a devoted father whose greatest happiness was spending time with his children.

Brandon worked for GT Automation Group in Fort Wayne for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Nicole Deck; five children, Makensi, Olyvia, Maxx, Emarie Deck and Jayden Wright; his father, Bruce Deck; his mother, Tina (Ronald) Gatchell; his sister, Heather Gatchell; his brother, Trefor Gatchell; his maternal grandmother, Donna Iden; his paternal grandmother, Mary Deck; and his nephew, Bentley Gatchell.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling hours from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery.
