Brian L. Parish, 94, of Churubusco, joined his wife Marilyn in heaven on October 3, 2023. Born on December 15, 1928, in Smith Township, Indiana; he was a son of the late Orville and Grace (Deem) Parish.
Brian Graduated from Churubusco High School in 1946. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving in Korea, and was a charter member of Good News Baptist Church.
On October 20, 1956, he married Marilyn L. Arnold in Churubusco. They were married for 67 years.
Later in life, he worked as a machinist for the Dana Corporation, retiring in 1987 after 39 years.
Brian's passion was all types of flight. It included rebuilding from scratch, then flying for personal enjoyment, a 1942 Meyers OTW (Out to Win) biplane to its originality NC34330. His love of flight also included participating in a three-generation skydiving event for his 80th birthday.
Brian is survived by his two daughters, Dianna L. Parish-Crumpacker, and Karen M. Clark; son, Monte D. Parish; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jerry Parish, and Arden Parish.
His beloved wife Marilyn preceded him to heaven in April 2022. In addition to both his parents and his wife Marilyn, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Juanita Deerwester; and a brother, Dale Parish.
Funeral services for Brian will be held on Monday, October 9, 2023, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, at 2:00 PM. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral. Burial with military honors will be held at Eel River Cemetery immediately following the services.
