Brian Smith

Brian Dean Smith, 48, of Blue Lake, passed away at 1:45 pm on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. Mr.Smith was born on March 31, 1965 in Fort Wayne, a son of Forrest Dean and Nancy (Straub) Smith. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, and graduated from Snider High School in 1984. He moved from Fort Wayne to Blue Lake where he had lived for the last ten years. He was employed at Norandex Reynolds, for 27 years. Mr. Smith was a beloved father, grandpa, brother, and uncle. He loved fishing, outdoors, the Tennessee Volunteers, and the Dallas Cowboys. The surviving relatives include his two sons, Nicholas D. (Kelsie Herron) Smith and Lucas H. Smith both of Churubusco; a granddaughter, Chloe Smith of Churubusco; two sisters, Cheryl (Ed) Balle of Fort Wayne and Debra Ryan of Warsaw; and his beloved Dog Gracie. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, with Mr. David Miller, officiating. The family will receive family & friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm Sunday, or one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Allen County.
