Buna C. Head, 97, a resident of Blue Lake near Churubusco, passed away at 12:21 p. m. on Thursday, May 17, 2012, at Parkview Oaks in Columbia City, where she had been a patient for over seven years. Mrs. Head was born on July 28, 1914 in Jefferson Township in Huntington County, a daughter of Arthur C. and Mary Ann (Shidler) Myers, and spent her formative years in Huntington County.e On June 21, 1953 she was married to Harry W. Head, and had lived at Blue Lake since that time . Employed as a cook for 18 years at the former Green Grill in Churubusco, she had also owned and operated Rapp's Camp Ground at Blue Lake for many years. Mr. Head preceded her in death on November 18, 1974. The surviving relatives include her daughters Nancy Murphree of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Marilyn "Susie" (Raymond) Koker of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons Lewis Davis and John Davis; three sisters; four brothers; a granddaughter Diana Lynn Davis; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. on Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Rick Van Horn, pastor of Christ Community Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 11 a. m. on Monday until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
