Carol A. Scott, 66, a resident of Huntertown and wife of Stanley P. Scott, passed away at 3:53 p. m. on Friday, October 4, 2013, at University Park Health & Rehab Center in Fort Wayne. She had been in declining health since 2003 and had entered the nursing home last October. Mrs. Scott was born in Fort Wayne on October 20, 1946, a daughter of John and Marian (Gibson) Kloer. She spent her formative years there, and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1964. Her early adult years were spent in Fort Wayne, where she was employed at the former Allen County Bank. On October 18, 1986 she was married to Stanley P. Scott, and had resided in Huntertown since her marriage. She had been affiliated with the Farmers & Merchants Bank in Huntertown, and retired in 2003 as its vice president. The surviving relatives include her husband Stan; a daughter Paula Witmer of Harlan; a step-son Jon Scott of Churubusco; and her sister Kathleen (Michael) Donley of Fort Wayne. There are four grandchildren and one great-grandson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother John E. Kloer. Funeral services will be held at 1 p. m. on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Greg Hiatt, pastor of Huntertown United Methodist Church, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 12 noon on Tuesday until the time of the service. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
