Caroline Groce

Caroline F. Groce, 76, of Fort Wayne, passed away on August 30, 2021, at her home in Fort Wayne. She was born in Indianapolis, on December 28, 1944, to the late Albert and Frances (Hazle) Carter. She spent her formative years in Indianapolis, where she attended Decatur High School. Caroline was married to Robert Groce in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2011. She was self-employed as an interior designer. Caroline also spent time working for the Indianapolis Auto Auctions. She enjoyed playing cards, going fishing, singing karaoke and telling jokes with her grandchildren. She also spent years building doll houses for her grandchildren to enjoy. Caroline is survived by her daughter, Nancy (James, Jr.) Cronin; her son, Craig Whisman; her daughter-in-law, Mindy Whisman; her four grandchildren, William Cronin, Jacob Cronin, Emily Whisman and Benjamin Whisman; and two honorary great-grandchildren, Leo Tippmann and Billy Tippmann. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Carter, Jr. and her sister, Nellie Jean Carter. At this time there are no planned services.
