Carrie L. Hoot, 46, of Fort Wayne, passed away at her home on July 12, 2025.
She was born in Port Huron, Michigan, on July 27, 1978, to Daniel and Bobbie-Jean (Henderson) Stokan. Carrie spent her formative years in Port Huron, graduating from Port Huron High School.
A beloved wife, mother, daughter, and sister, Carrie's marriage led her to Fort Wayne, where she resided with her loving husband, Isaac Hoot, whom she wed on August 12, 2008. Her life was enriched by her two beloved daughters, Raina and Hanna Hoot, to whom she was a devoted and loving mother.
Carrie was a woman of many talents, with a passion for crafting, including sewing, stamping, crocheting, and working on her Cricut projects. She found joy in music, playing the piano and singing beautifully. She also shared a love of playing video games with her husband. A faithful attendee of Pathway Community Church, Carrie was known for her kind heart and her service to others, which was evident in her dedication to the Brown City Camp, where she had served as a camp counselor in her youth and continued to welcome people there every year.
Carrie is survived by her husband, Isaac Hoot; her parents, Daniel and Bobbie-Jean Stokan; her daughters, Raina and Hanna Hoot; her brother, Bob (Betsy) Stokan; and her in-laws, Roger and Nancy Hoot.
A funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Huntertown Chapel, with calling beginning at 2:00 p.m.
