Cecelia "Cele" Tomlins

Cecelia "Cele" A. Tomlins, 93, formerly of Churubusco, passed away on August 21, 2021, at Brookdale Assisted Living in Fort Wayne. She was born in Fingal, ND, on January 10, 1928, to the late John and Anna (Millner) Morth. She spent her formative years in Valley City, ND, graduating from St. Catherine's High School in 1945. She then graduated from St. Andrews School of Nursing in 1949. Cele served her country in the United States Air Force from 1949 - 1952. Cecelia Morth was married to Arthur P. Tomlins in Peru, IL, on June 25, 1955. He preceded her in death on May 6, 2001. Following her service in the Air Force, she worked as a Private Duty Nurse and volunteered with the American Red Cross. She was an active member of St. John Bosco Catholic Church. She was also a member of the St. John Bosco and Ege Rosary Sodalities. She enjoyed gardening, traveling abroad, baking cookies and reading. Cele is survived by her two daughters, Patty (Mario) Zambrano and Mary Noah; a sister, Lucille (Henry) Sherman. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Morth; sisters, Agnes Gruman, Sister Celine Morth, Sister Mary Margaret Morth, Mary Ann Siemieniewski, Anne Shackle, Magdaline Peterson and Barbara Weber; two grandsons, Alexander Noah and Michael Foor.
