Charles "Chuck" Eugene Lehman, 73, of Churubusco, passed away on May 20, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center.
A native of Columbia City, Chuck was born on August 2, 1950, to Harold and Lucy Lehman. He was a dedicated family man, a lover of drag racing, and a proud member of the Churubusco American Legion Post 157. Charles married his beloved wife, Linda, on January 31, 1974, and together they raised a loving family. He was known for his unwavering work ethic, demonstrated during his career as a millwright with Dana Corp in Churubusco.
Chuck will be remembered for his many achievements, notably making it into the World finals in Darlington, Drag Racing Streetcar ET Class in 1979. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Linda; his sons, Chad (Beth) Lehman, Kevin Lehman, and Scott Lehman; his daughter, Jennifer (Butcher) Baudhuin. He is also survived by his siblings, Harold (Sharon) Lehman, Gloria (Ron) Drudge, Martha Acers, Josephine (Brian) Sherman, and Terry Stevens; his grandchildren, Austin, Breanna, Marissa, Madison, Alaina, Bethany, and Becca.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughters, Chrissy and Annie Lehman.
A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service.
The family will also receive family and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 2 -4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m.
Burial will take place at the Oak Grove Cemetery, South of Columbia City.
