Cheryl Targgart

Cheryl Marie Targgart, 63 a resident of Churubusco and wife of Dan Targgart, passed away at 5:35 p. m. on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis. Mrs. Targgart was born on April 11, 1949 in Beech Grove, a daughter of the late Rev. Richard E. and Mabel V. (Morehead) Kistler, and lived all of her life in Indiana except for three years in Ohio.e She graduated from Churubusco High School in 1967 and also attended Indiana Central College (now University of Indianapolis). On June 13, 1970 she was married in Churubusco to Dan L. Targgart of Wolf Lake, and lived all of her adult life in Churubusco. She and her family attended the Blue River Church of the Brethren in Whitley County, where she was very active in the children's department.e She had worked at the former Green Center School for a number of years, and for the last 12 years had worked at the Churubusco Community Child Care Center. The surviving relatives include her husband Dan; her children Tim (Amy) Targgart of Albion, Angie (Cary) Stauffer of Berne, and Joel (Kaitlyn) Targgart of Woodbury, Minn; two brothers Lanny (Cindy) Kistler, Sr. of Goshen and Leslie Kistler of Mishawaka; three sisters Cindy Merrill of Russiaville, Nina (Alan) Peery of Goshen, and Renny (Mark) Yeoman of Elkhart; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at the Blue River Church of the Brethren, 3430 East 700 North, Columbia City, with Pastors Craig Alan Myers and Rick Van Horn, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p. m. on Saturday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco, or at the church one hour prior to the service Sunday afternoon. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Churubusco Community Child Care Center, 111 Home Avenue, Churubusco, INe 46723 ******************************************
