Christopher Bratten

Christopher Bratten, 52, of Churubusco, passed away at 12:30 p. m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at home in Churubusco after a long fight with cancer. Mr. Bratten was born on December 3, 1961 in Muncie, a son of David Bratten and Dianne (Wallace) Papenbrock. He spent his formative years in Warsaw. Mr. Bratten was a member of the Son's of the American Legion. He enjoyed racing and playing golf. The surviving relatives include wife, Christy Bratten of Moore, OK; his mother Dianne Papenbrock of Churubusco; his father David Bratten of Francesville; two sons Ryan and Tyler Bratten; two daughters Miranda and Marissa Bratten; a granddaughter Brielle Bratten; his sister Robin (Everett) Shonk of Francesville; a brother Ron (Ruby Shepherd) Bratten of Churubusco; two step-brothers Tom (Tina) Papenbrock, Jr. of Churubusco and Jon (Jennifer) Hamming of Grand Rapids, Mich. He was preceded in death by two brothers David Lee Bratten II and Anthony Wayne Bratten; and also by his step-father Thomas Papenbrock. Memorial services will be held at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 5:00 p.m., with Chaplin Kurt Snyder, officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p. m. until the time of the service Friday afternoon. ***********************************************
