Christopher A Scheurich

Christopher A. Scheurich, 63, of Avilla, passed away on July 12, 2026, at his home.

He was born on November 29, 1962, in Columbia City, to the late William and Dorthy (Bowers) Scheurich. He grew up in Churubusco, where he formed lasting memories and friendships and ultimately graduated from Churubusco High School.

Christopher proudly served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany for nearly two years, an experience that shaped him and filled him with pride throughout his life. He dedicated his professional life to Air-way Global Manufacturing, where he was an esteemed member of the team.

Those who knew Christopher celebrated his love for life. He spent countless hours fishing, finding peace by the water, and relished the freedom that came with riding his motorcycle. His spirit was infectious, and his zest for adventure brought joy to those around him.

Christopher is survived by his three devoted daughters, Kayla (Brandon) Haiflich, Shalana (Mark) Erne, and Charissa Delaplane; his cherished grandson, Oakley Haiflich; his brother, Troy Scheurich; a special friend, Robin Murphy; and two nieces.

A memorial gathering will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m., with military honors to follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to Shepherd's House, an organization that Christopher would have admired for its commitment to service and the community.
