Cody Mccoy

Cody M. McCoy, 27, a native of Churubusco, passed away early Monday, June 23, 2014, at his home in Fort Wayne. Cody was born on June 3, 1987 in Fort Wayne, a son of Jerry A. and Delores "Dee Dee" (Caudle) McCoy, and had lived all of his life in Churubusco until just recently moving to Fort Wayne. He graduated from Churubusco High School in 2006, where he excelled in a variety of athletics. For over seven years he had been employed as a machinist with C&A Tool & Engineering in Churubusco. In his leisure time he enjoyed music, playing his guitar, and was an avid Cincinnati Bengals and Cincinnati Reds fan. Most of all he was a loving and devoted father to his two sons. The surviving relatives are his sons Braylon Andrew McCoy of Fort Wayne and Cayden Michael Pequignot of Columbia City; his parents Jerry and Dee Dee McCoy of Churubusco; a sister Tiffany (Jorel) Longardner of Albion; a brother Shawn (Codi Wetzel) McCoy of Churubusco; the maternal grandparents Claude and Rosalee Caudle of Greens Fork; the paternal grandparents Neil and Pat McCoy of Greens Fork; a niece Jaelie Longardner; two nephews Jorian and Jaymin Longardner; a companion and her daughter Adrienne Miller and Laila of Fort Wayne; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Friday in Churubusco United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Van Horn, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Thursday from 2 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. The family requests that memorials be directed for his two sons in care of Jerry and Delores McCoy. *************************************************
