Connie Nestel Teghtmeyer

Connie (Gross) Nestel Teghtmeyer, 85, of Churubusco, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at Parkview Randellia Hospital. She was born on August 8, 1936, in Whitley County, to the late Guy and Lois (McGuire) Gross. She spent her formative years in Churubusco, graduating from Churubusco High School. Connie was married in Churubusco to Roger Lee Nestel on October 3, 1954. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1984. She was later married in Columbia City to Jim Teghtmeyer, on November 1, 1986. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1999. She was a member of the Churubusco United Methodist Church, where she was active in small group bible study. She also enjoyed hiking and golfing. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Connie is survived by her four children, Diann (Kim Vance) Nestel, Deb (Cy) Imbody, Dan (Cindy) Nestel, and Dallas (Nancy) Nestel; two stepdaughters, Alicia (Doug) Teghtmeyer Johnson and Nikkey Teghtmeyer; a brother, Lynn (JoEllen) Gross; two sisters, MaryAnn Hazen and Louise Barnhart; 15 grandchildren, Justin, Megan, Alyssa, Brittney, Brianna, Katelynn, Evan, Landon, Elizabeth, Eric, Emily, Paul, Sam, Austin, and Andrew; 29 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Lori Teghtmeyer Pfeifer; two brothers, Robert and Donald Gross. Funeral Services will take place a Churubusco United Methodist Church, on Saturday, July 30, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends at the church, on Friday, July 29, 2022, from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Burial will take place in the Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
