Constance "Connie" Joan Mueller, 78, of Churubusco, took the Lord's hand at her home on January 7, 2025.
She was born in Decatur to the late Kenneth and Nina (Mossburg) Warman on June 11, 1946. She spent her formative years in Columbia City and graduated from Columbia City High School. On July 18, 1971, she married the love of her life, Donald Mueller, who predeceased her on July 19, 2024, after 53 years of marriage. Connie was a dedicated employee of Dana Corporation in Churubusco, where she worked in the office for over 30 years. Connie retired in 2001 to start her dream job of taking care of her grandchildren.
Known for her strength, resilient spirit, and love of life and family, Connie spent her free time crafting, painting, antiquing, journaling, treasure hunting with her metal detector, and organizing her annual garage sales. She found joy in her feline companions and took great pleasure in caring for them. Connie enjoyed court tv, casino trips and traveling, especially to Missouri to visit her sister. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren. She loved teaching them life lessons and attending their numerous athletic events and special programs.
Connie is survived by her son, Doug (Tara) Tonkel; her grandchildren, Kobe, Makenzi, Zoie, and Carson Tonkel; her sister, Betsy Warman; her nephew, Adrian McEntee; and her nieces, Tracy Springer and Lauren McEntee.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Hoffman.
