Craig Harmeyer

Craig L. Harmeyer, 57, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 4:48 p.m., on Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Lutheran ER Statewood. Born on Feb. 11, 1961, in Fort Wayne, he was the youngest son of Louis and Edna Kathryn (Easterday) Harmeyer. He spent his formative years in Allen County and graduated from Carroll High School in 1979. After high school he graduated from IPFW with a Purdue degree and received his master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan. Craig was married on May 1, 1988, in Fort Wayne, to Rhonda Hull. He was an engineer with Navistar for seven years. He worked most recently at Fort Wayne Community Schools. He enjoyed the Indy 500, hiking at Chain of Lakes, Snider PAB and NASA. He was a member of the National Association of Rocketry with his son. He loved spending time with his family and cherished his children. Craig is survived by his wife of 29 years, Rhonda Harmeyer; a son, Nathan Harmeyer; a daughter, Yvonne Harmeyer; two brothers, Darwin (Sheryl) Harmeyer and Barry (Diane) Harmeyer; three sisters, Elaine (Ron) Ahrens, Janet Doner and Rosalie (Tom) Welch; many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. Calling will take place at Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00. Services will begin at 12:00 p.m., at Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Thursday, March 29, 2018. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the family to be used for a student scholarship.
