Craig Charles Knox, 48, of Decatur, passed away at home on May 7, 2025.
He was born in Fort Wayne on February 10, 1977, to Sylvia Mills and Rodney L. Knox. He spent his formative years in Allen County and graduated from Carroll High School in 1995.
Craig, a beloved family man, lived in Decatur, Indiana. He was a dedicated worker who spent 16 memorable years at the Allen County Jail before transitioning to a manufacturing position at BF Goodrich. Craig was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church-Bigen, the Emergency Response team at BF Goodrich, and the Sort Team at the Allen County Jail. His hobbies included going to the movies, enjoying the great outdoors, smoking meat, target shooting, and playing video games. What mattered most to Craig was spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Craig was a devoted husband to Joni Knox, whom he married on January 30, 2012. He was a loving father to his children, Sofia, Nadia, and Kai; his parents, Rodney (Julie) Knox and Sylvia Springer; his siblings, Aaron (Heather) Springer, Erick (Jodie) Springer, Katie Knox, and Coleen Letner.
Craig was preceded in death by his stepfather, Terry Springer.
The family will receive family and friends at St John Lutheran Church, 11555 U.S. 27, Decatur, Indiana, 46733, on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
A memorial service will occur on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at St John Lutheran Church, 11555 U.S. 27, Decatur, with calling beginning at 9:30 a.m.
Memorials may be directed to Wyneken Memorial Lutheran School.
