Dailey M. Fogle, 91, well known photo journalist for the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette and a former resident of Churubusco, passed away at 1:24 p. m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.e He had been taken there from University Park Nursing Home in Fort Wayne last week after suffering an apparent heart attack. Mr. Fogle was born on October 7, 1921 in Jefferson Township in Adams County, a son of Fredrick and Elizabeth (Peel) Fogle, and graduated from high school in Mooseheart, Illinois in 1940. During World War II he served with the U. S. Army Air Corps, and was married on July 4, 1946 to Alverda J. "Bine" Geiger.e The couple lived all of their married lives in Churubusco. His professional career spanned a period of over 33 years, working as a photo journalist for the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, retiring in 1987. A faithful member of the Good News Baptist Church in Churubusco, he was also a lifetime member of the Press Photo Papers Association and had served as the chaplain of the Indiana Horseshoe Pitchers Association.e Always civic minded, he was named Churubusco's Citizen of the Year in 1998 and was named the Grand Marshall of the annual Turtle Days parade that year. The surviving relatives include the widow Alverda "Bine" Fogle, to whom he was married for over 66 years; his son William L. Fogle of Fort Wayne; and two grandchildren Zachary (Lynn) Fogle and Travis Fogle, both of Fort Wayne.e Also surviving is a sister Sarah Corrigan of Baltimore, Md. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters Mildred Coffinberger and Betty Dirig; and by two brothers Erman Fogle and Joseph Fogle. Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at the Good News Baptist Church in Churubusco with Pastor Edward A. Thompson, officiating. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Saturday from 2 to 5 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service Sunday afternoon. Interment with military graveside rites will be in the Riverview Cemetery, south of Churubusco. For those who wish, memorials may be directed to Good News Baptist Church, 812 W.
