Danny Biddle

Danny E. Biddle, Sr., 65, a resident of rural Albion, was in route to his beloved Lake Brevort in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to celebrate his 46th wedding anniversary. It was a special place that he and his family had always enjoyed. An unexpected motor vehicle accident on Monday, June 23, 2014, caused him to be taken to the University of Michigan Health System in Ann Arbor, where he passed away at 6:29 a. m. on Sunday, June 29, 2014. Mr. Biddle was born in LaPorte on July 16, 1948, and spent his formative years in Fort Wayne. He graduated from Northside High School in 1966, and later earned a certificate from the International Business College in Fort Wayne. On June 22, 1968 he was married in Churubusco to Mary Lou Johnson. Other than living in Bronson, Michigan for three years, the couple spent most of their married lives in Noble Township in Noble County. Well known as a realtor, appraiser, and property investor, he had been employed by Orizion Real Estate when it was first established in Fort Wayne. He was later employed by the Federal Land Bank in Albion, was an auctioneer for Schrader Real Estate & Auction Company, Inc. in Columbia City, and for the last several years had been a self-employed realtor and real estate appraiser. He attended the New Hope Wesleyan Church, west of Columbia City, and was a member of the board of directors of the Oxford Adoption Foundation in Naples, Florida. In his leisure time he enjoyed camping, woodworking, was an avid coin collector, and will always be remembered as a perfectionist in whatever he did. Most importantly, he loved and cherished his family. The surviving relatives include his wife Mary Lou; a brother-son Kevin (Tina) Biddle of Churubusco; four children Melody (Donnie Winebrenner) Biddle of Churubusco, Dr. Kimberly (Michael) Sajdak of Columbia City, Danny (Andrea) Biddle, Jr. of Albion, and Kristina (Jeff) Schefke of Oxford, Mich; his mother Madalene Allfeld of Fort Wayne; three brothers Richard (Drucilla) Biddle of Albion, Leo Wayne Biddle of Churubusco and Phillip Biddle of Fort Wayne; his sister Cheryl (Gary) Hackett of Fort Wayne; a son-in-law Todd (Angie) Weber of Albion; and eleven grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a. m. Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at the New Hope Wesleyan Church, U. S. 30 at County Road 400 West, Columbia City with Pastor Jason Tash, officiating. The family will receive friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p. m., or at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
