Danny Burns

Danny Ray Burns, 61, of Avilla, passed away on March 16, 2024, at Parkview Hospital Randallia. He was born on July 8, 1962, in Columbia City, to the late Larry and Bonnie (Cox) Burns. Danny was a cherished member of the community. He was a dedicated worker, spending his career at the newspaper. He retired in 2013 from the Post "N" Mail, after many years of faithful service. Danny leaves behind a loving family that includes his significant other, Tina Palmerton; his children, Heather (Austin Rariden) Burns, Joe (Jessica) Burns, Jason (Megan) Burns, and Daniel Miller; his siblings, Rick Marker and Deborah (Scott) Slayton; 14 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Bonnie Burns; his sister, Catherine Tulley; and a grandson. A funeral service will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, On Friday, March 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service. The family will also receive family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday, March 21, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will take place at South Park Annex Cemetery, Columbia City.
