David Bade

October 17, 1935 — February 21, 2019

David Dean Bade, 83, of Churubusco, passed away at 12:22 a.m., on February 21, 2019, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, on October 17, 1935, to the late, Alfred and Winno (Eddy) Bade. He spent his formative years in Fort Wayne, graduating from Concordia High School in 1954. He later received his BS from Concordia Junior College and Seminary and his MA from Concordia Teacher's College. David was married to Ethyl Lee James in St. Louis, on July 30, 1960. The couple lived in Bluffton and New Haven until moving to Smith Township in 1989. She preceded him on December 14, 2018. He worked as a teacher at Norwell High School, retiring in 1992. He was a strong Christian man, a devoted husband, father and grandfather and was dedicated to teaching. David is survived by three sons, Bruce N. (Stephanie) Bade of Louisville, KY, Blane D. (Nancy) Bade of Fort Wayne and Brett J.(Marie) Bade of Huntertown; a daughter, Belinda (Ben) Geise of Churubusco; a brother, Charles A. Bade of Fort Wayne; six grandchildren, Amanda (Jordon) Knerr of Columbia, SC, Nick Bade of Fort Wayne, Sarah Bade of Fort Wayne, Justin "Ben" Geise, Cassidy Geise and Thomas "Bear" Geise all of Churubusco. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Beth Amanda Bade in 1985; a brother, Lester C. Bade; a sister, Shirley A. Gordon; a step-mother, Mildred Bade. Services will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Monday, February 25, 2019, at 1:00 p.m., Pastor Lane Burgland, officiating. Calling one hour prior to the service. Burial at the Concordia Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Wayne. Memorials to Donor's Choice. Online note to the family at www.sheetsandchilds.com.
