David E. Leazier, 68, of Ari, passed away on May 17, 2024, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born on July 4, 1955, in Fort Wayne, to the late Harold and Mildred (Hohnhaus) Leazier. He spent his formative years in Green Center and attended Churubusco High School.
David, who resided in Ari, was a dedicated family man who held a firm belief in the value of hard work and the importance of close-knit relationships. He was a proud member of the Local 213, from where he retired, and dedicated much of his time to the Masonry business. David also found joy in an active life, with hobbies such as hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and trapshooting, often in Eastern Ohio. He was a lifetime member of the Ideal Fish and Game Club and spent countless hours in the company of his family and friends, which he cherished above all.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Leazier, to whom he was married on February 7, 1976. He leaves behind his daughter, Stephanie (Mark) Weaver; and his son, Thomas (Keegan Knott) Leazier, who will remember him as a loving father; his brothers, Greg (Sherie) Leazier, Paul (Kathy) Leazier, Tim (Lou Ann) Leazier, and Danny Hofferberth; a sister-in-law, Brenda Leazier; and his granddaughter, Harper Leazier, will miss the warmth of her grandfather.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Mildred Leazier, and his brother, Steve Leazier.
The family will receive family and friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
There will be a private graveside service held at Covington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials may be directed to the Ideal Fish and Game Club.
