Deborah K. Butler, 69, of Kendallville, passed away at her home on September 2, 2024. She was born in LaGrange on December 5, 1954, to the late Ernest and Pauline (Lovelace) Combs. She spent her formative years in Rome City, graduating from East Noble. Deborah was a long-time resident of Rome City, known for her strong work ethic. She dedicated 23 years to Nishikawa Standard in Bremen, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and perseverance. Deborah was married to Jerry "Cooter" Butler, Sr., on September 24, 1981. He preceded her in death on October 24, 2013. She is survived by her five children, Rebecca (Kyle Rosbrugh) Degroff, Karena (Sam) Woods, Jodi (Robert) Isaacs, Danny Combs, and Jerry Dee Butler Jr.; a brother, Ernest (Mary) Combs; a sister, Yvonne Stackhouse; 11 grandchildren, Skyler A. Woods, Tasha M. Woods, Cheyenne R. Woods, Lydia M. Degroff , Douglas A. Degroff Jr., Derek A. Degroff, Caitlyn R. Degroff, Kimerly A. Degroff, Kirstiana (David) Rasmussen, Lucas Isaacs, and Logan Isaacs; 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial calling will be held for Deborah on Monday, September 9, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel. Memorials may be directed to Noble County Humane Shelter. Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
