Debra Gross

Debra Lynn Gross, 62, of Churubusco, passed away on Monday, April 16, 2018, in Fort Wayne. Born in Fort Wayne on November 19, 1952, she was a daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Haver) McGowen. She spent her formative years in Fort Wayne and attended South Side High School. Debbie was married in Leo on February 7, 1981, to Jerrold "Jake" Gross. She was a long-time bus driver for Northwest Allen County Schools, retiring in 2017. Debbie loved her family and would stop and do anything for her grandchildren. Survived by her husband of 37 years, Jerrold "Jake" Gross; four children, Stacey (Joe Rust) Taylor, Rick Taylor, Amy (Paul) Sweazey and Abby (Steven) Kulas; her mother, Dorothy (Edward) Teague; a sister, Kathy Havlock; two brothers, Mike (Sue) McGowen and Scott McGowen; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Preceded by her father, Charles McGowen; brothers, Tommy Toombs and Kevin McGowen. Calling at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church on Thursday, April 19, 2018.
