Debra L. Maus, 50, a resident of Fort Wayne and well known financial adviser, passed away at 4:08 p. m. on Thursday, April 15, 2010 at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne with her loved ones by her side. Mrs. Maus was born in Harrodsburg, Kentucky on August 2, 1959, the daughter of Maurice and Pearl (Berryman) Gritton.e She spent her formative years in Mercer County, Kentucky and graduated from Harrodsburg High School in 1977.e She earned her bachelor's degree from Indiana University, and later received her master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. She moved to Fort Wayne in 1996 from Wabash, and was a professional financial adviser with Edward Jones in Fort Wayne.e Her life was marked by a wide circle of friends and professional accomplishments.e She was a member of the Huntertown United Methodist Church, Churubusco Rotary, and had traveled world-wide. Debbie had many friends and acquaintances that she touched.e She is now with God in a place where angels dwell, and will be one of them. On July 24, 1987 she was married in Mercer County, Kentucky to Jim Maus.e He survives. Other surviving relatives include her parents Maurice and Pearl Gritton of Danville, Kentucky; and a brother and sister-in-law Steve and Millie Gritton of Tryon, North Carolina. The body will be taken from the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco to the Ransdell Funeral Chapel in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, where friends may call from 2 to 5 p. m. on Sunday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a. m. on Monday, April 19, 2010, at the funeral home with Revs. Harold Best and John David Lane, officiating.e There will also be calling one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Hopewell Baptist Cemetery, Mercer County, Kentucky. Local memorial services will be held at 7 p. m. on Monday, April 26, 2010, at the Huntertown United Methodist Church, 16021 Lima Road, with Pastor Greg Hiatt, officiating.
