Debra A. Mock, 53, a resident of Eel River Township and wife of Garry A. Mock, passed away at 11:54 p. m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She had been in failing health for the past several years. Debra was born on May 14, 1960 in Columbia City, a daughter of Rodger and Shirley (Hosler) Schlotterback, and spent her formative years in Eel River Township. She graduated from Carroll High School in 1978 and graduated from IPFW with two degrees. She was married in Fort Wayne on May 22, 1982 to Garry A. Mock, and lived all of her adult life in rural Allen County. Until 1990 she had been employed at Flashfold Carton in Fort Wayne, where she had worked for ten years. She had also served as a volunteer at Northwest Allen County Schools and for Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana. In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting, reading, playing board games, and most especially enjoyed caring for children. The surviving relatives include her husband Garry; a son L Cpl Brandon Mock of the United States Marine Corps, stationed in New River, North Carolina; her mother Shirley Schlotterback of Churubusco; her father Rodger Schlotterback of Sarasota, Florida; and two sisters Darlene (Jon) Lebrecht of Fort Wayne and Donna (Darren) Dafforn of Churubusco. There are also numerous nieces , nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, as well as her cat "Comet" and her dog "Arizona." The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a. m. Wednesday, November 20, 2013, at St. John Bosco Catholic Church in Churubusco with Father Danney Pinto, the celebrant. The family will receive friends at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p. m.,, or after 9 a. m. Wednesday morning. The Rosary will be recited at 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, Allen County. For those who wish, memorials may be directed to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana, Wounded Warrior Project, or to masses. ********************************************
