Delores M. Blessing

Delores Mae Blessing, 97, of Columbia City, entered the arms of her Savior on October 25, 2026. She was born on March 21, 1929, in Whitley County to the late Harry and Florence (Green) Blessing.

Delores grew up on the family farm and became connected to Passages and Easter Seals in Whitley County, eventually becoming a resident. Delores enjoyed a life filled with creativity and simple pleasures, especially drawing, painting, and puzzles. One of her favorite "jobs" was petting dogs and cats at the Humane Shelter.

A devoted sister and aunt, Delores is survived by her sister, Ardean Ebert; her nieces and nephews, Wendy (Neil) Laymon, Miles (Lynette) Ebert, Karna (Brent) Ley, Doreen Rhodes, Doyle Rhodes, and Denise Geiger; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and her extended Easter Seals Family.

Delores was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Florence Blessing; her sister, Mardell Rhodes; and her brothers-in-law, Bueford Ebert and Ronald Rhodes.

Calling hours will be at Sheets and Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Sunday, November 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 2, 2026, with calling one hour before the service.

Burial will take place at Eel River Cemetery.
