Dennis Barnes

Dennis Barnes, 65, of Churubusco, passed away on September 5, 2017 at Bethlehem Woods in Fort Wayne. Born on November 20, 1951 in Warsaw, to Alvin and Doris (Craig) Barnes. He spent his formative years in Churubusco and graduated from Churubusco High School. He was married on January 17, 1981 to Cathy Johnson. Dennis work in commercial tire sales and retired in 2014. In his early adult hood, he enjoyed harness horse racing. Later he loved to fish and spend time with his family. Dennis is survived by his wife, Cathy Barnes of Churubusco; his daughter, Jennifer (Rickey) Malott Jr. of Churubusco; a sister Becky Marsh; three grandchildren, Meranda, Brody and Hadley Malott. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Betty Hess. Visiting hours will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on September 8, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Calling also one hour prior to the service Services will begin at 10:00 AM, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home on September 9, 2017. Burial will follow at Eel River Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make donations to his grandchildren's 529 education fund.
