Dianna Louise (Hess) Longardner, of Avilla, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 4, 2024, surrounded by her beloved family. Born on November 4, 1952, in Decatur, to parents, Robert and Ida (McClish) Hess, Dianna lived a life that was as rich and vibrant as her personality.
Dianna enjoyed collecting antiques and going to auctions with her husband Gerald. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was playing bingo, solving crossword puzzles, or indulging in her love for old movies and television. An avid reader, Dianna's wit was as sharp as her mind. Her love for dogs, flowers, and most importantly, her grandchildren, painted a picture of a woman who found beauty in life's everyday moments. Despite the love she had for her hobbies, what mattered the most to Dianna was her family. She was the devoted caregiver to her husband, children, and grandchildren; a role she embraced with all her heart.
She is survived by her husband, Gerald F. Longardner; daughters, Amy (Gregg) Gordon, and Amanda (John) Wickline; grandchildren, Colin, Maddy, Carson, Serena, Shannon, Mataya, Sierra, Cody, and Ryan; and sisters, Janet, Faith, and Carolyn.
In addition to both of her parents, Dianna was preceded in death by her children, Terri Gaskill, and Jon Gaskill; siblings, Marsha, Waymon, Howard, Jimmy, and Bobby; brothers-in-law, Joe, and Robert; and a sister-in-law, Betty.
The family will receive family and friends at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Friday, June 7, 2024, from 2 - 4 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 4:00 p.m.
Sheets & Childs Funeral Home has been entrusted with these arrangements.
