Donald Lee Foster, 84, of Albion, passed away on September 18, 2023, at his farm.
He was born in Kendallville, on July 25, 1939, to the late Russell and Virginia (Workman) Foster. He spent his formative years in Noble County and graduated from Wolf Lake High School in 1957.
Donald was a devoted husband, having been married to his beloved wife, Carolyn Sue Diller, since February 17, 1961. The couple enjoyed being snowbirds in Florida for 20 years.
Donald was a hardworking man who dedicated 25 years to Super Value in the maintenance department before retiring. He had a passion for farming, a hobby he cherished and shared with his family, who meant the world to him. Donald was also an avid sports fan, supporting the IU Basketball and Yankees Baseball teams. In his free time, he displayed his artistic side through woodworking and crafting and sold his crafts at the Kendallville Apple Festival for 30 years. He was always on the hunt for a good deal at garage sales, Flea Markets, or Antique Stores.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sue Foster; his son, Kerry (Heather) Foster; his daughter, Kelly (Mark) Lundquist; four grandchildren, Evan (Amber McMaken) Foster, Allison (Brad) Langston, Paige (Aaron) Heaton, and Conner (Courtney) Lundquist; eight great-grandchildren, Blaire, Copeland, Norah, Charolette, Ben, Brooks, Russell, Halle, and Reece.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Virgina Foster; his brother, Gerry Foster; a daughter, Cristi Foster; his beloved dog, Peanut.
A public calling will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, with calling one hour prior to the service.
Donald will be laid to rest at the Merriam Christian Chapel Cemetery.
