Donald Dean Weber, known affectionately as "Deadwood" to his friends and family, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 7, 2023.
He was born on July 22, 1946, in Hillsboro, WI, to the late Ervin & Eleanor (Hahn) Weber. He spent his formative years in Kendall, WI, and graduated from Royal High School in 1964. Following high school, he joined the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War.
He married Kay Yahnke in Wisconsin and moved to Fort Wayne in 1986 to work at General Motors Assembly Plant, Fort Wayne, where he was the first "Metal Man".
A creative and dedicated individual, Donald was a man of many talents. His creativity extended beyond his work, as he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and skilled woodworker. He was also a member of UAW 2209 and was a proud Rock County Reserve Officer in Wisconsin.
Donald is survived by his loving wife, Kay Weber; his children, Dennis (Suzanne) Weber and Carrie (Mike) Holler; his brother, LeRoy Weber; his sister, Lois Higgenbotham; his cherished grandchildren, Chris Holler, Donald Baugh, and Daniel Weber.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ervin and Eleanor Weber; his brothers, Charles, Norman, and Lloyd Weber.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at Glendale Cemetery, Kendall Wis., on May 18, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.
