Donita Harris

Donita L. (Swoverland) Geiger, 74, of Churubusco, passed away at 3:10 a.m. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Heritage Park Nursing Home in Fort Wayne. She was born on March 16, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of Donald F. and Cordelia (Katie) (Carriger) Swoverland. She spent her formative years in Whitley County, and graduated from Churubusco High School in 1959. Later she graduated from IPFW with a degree in Mental Health. She was employed at NE Area 3 Council on Aging, as a caseworker and director for 18 years. The surviving relatives include four daughters, Tracy Geiger of Fort Wayne, Whitney (Dan) Springob of Loveland, CO, April (Bronn) Pfeiffer of Fort Wayne, and Rayleen (Todd) Barson of Breckenridge, CO; three sons, Scott (Amy) Geiger of Fairbank, AK, Joe Geiger, and Michael Geiger of Indianapolis; sister, Saralyn Walls of Fort Wayne; brother, Don Gene (Jeri) Swoverland of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Steven Swoverland; a sister, Sondra Lee.
